Erica Gould, Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas

About Erica

I've been in the room where life gets hard.

Hi, I'm Erica — a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 18 years of experience helping individuals and families find their way through the moments that feel impossible. I've worked in private practices, nonprofits, schools, and large healthcare systems, and I've seen firsthand how much a supportive, non-judgmental relationship can change someone's life.

As a parent of a neurodivergent child myself, parenting support isn't just a specialty — it's personal. I know the guilt, the exhaustion, the questions with no clear answers. I bring that understanding to every client I work with.

Outside of sessions, I'm a wife, a mom of two teenage daughters, and someone who loves to travel, cook, and craft.

How I Can Help

You deserve support that actually fits your life.

I offer virtual therapy to adults across Texas, with deep experience in the challenges parents, couples, and individuals face in everyday life.

🌿

Stress & Anxiety

When life feels relentless, we'll work together to quiet the noise — building real tools to help you feel more grounded and in control, day to day.

👩‍👧

Parenting Support

Parenting is one of the hardest jobs there is. I specialize in supporting parents through communication challenges, family stress, and raising neurodivergent children.

💞

Relationships

Whether you're navigating a difficult relationship, recovering from one, or trying to understand your own patterns — there's space here to work through it.

🌸

Women's Health

Hormonal changes, identity shifts, and the emotional weight of caregiving often go unspoken. I provide a space where your full experience is seen, heard, and taken seriously.

🔄

Life Transitions

Divorce, career changes, empty nesting, loss — transitions upend everything familiar. We'll work together to find your footing and move forward with intention.

🧠

Neurodivergent Families

As a parent of a neurodivergent child myself, I bring both professional expertise and lived understanding to help families navigate unique challenges with compassion.

Sessions are tailored and flexible. Some clients see shifts quickly; others benefit from longer-term work. We move at your pace.

Is Therapy Right For Me?

Not sure if therapy is for you?

You don't have to be in crisis to benefit from counseling. Most people come in feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like something is just a little off — and that's enough.

Reach Out

You might be a good fit if…

  • You feel anxious, overwhelmed, or burned out more often than not
  • Parenting feels harder than you expected — or lonelier
  • You're going through a major life change and struggling to find your footing
  • Your relationships feel stuck in the same patterns
  • You're a parent of a neurodivergent child and need support you can't find elsewhere
  • You're functioning on the outside but struggling on the inside
  • You want a safe space to process something you've never said out loud

You might be wondering…

  • "My problems aren't bad enough for therapy" — they don't need to be
  • "I don't have time" — virtual sessions make it easier to fit in
  • "I should be able to handle this myself" — asking for help is a strength
  • "Will I have to talk about my childhood?" — only if it's relevant and you want to
  • "What if it doesn't work?" — reaching out is low-stakes, and we can take it one step at a time
Not sure yet? Reach out anyway. There's no pressure and no obligation — just send a message and I can help you figure out if it's a good fit.

What are your qualifications?

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas (LPC #62930) and a board-approved supervisor. I hold a bachelor's in psychology from UT and a master's in professional counseling from Texas State University, with 18+ years of clinical experience across private practice, nonprofits, schools, and healthcare systems.

Do you take insurance?

Yes — I'm currently in-network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and UHC/Optum. If you're unsure whether your plan covers virtual therapy, I'm happy to help you figure that out.

How do sessions work?

All sessions are held virtually via a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. You'll need a device with internet access and a camera. I'll send you simple instructions when we schedule your first appointment.

What age groups do you see?

I currently provide counseling for adults 18 and older.

How soon will I see results?

It depends on the person and what they're working through. Some clients notice meaningful shifts in just a few sessions; others benefit from longer-term support. We'll check in regularly on your progress and adjust as needed.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a charge. The fee will be based on either your private pay rate or your insurance's contracted rate. It's your responsibility to notify me promptly if you need to cancel or reschedule.

How does insurance billing work?

I am an in-network provider with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and UHC/Optum. Depending on your plan's contracted rate, you will be charged your copay or coinsurance at the time of service. If you're unsure what your plan covers, I'm happy to help you figure it out before your first session.

What are your private pay rates?

If you prefer not to use insurance, or if I'm not in-network with your plan, you're welcome to pay privately. A limited sliding scale rate is also available for those who qualify. Private pay rates are:

Individual Therapy — 45 minutes $120
Individual Therapy — 60 minutes $150
